Giving Back

For the past 10 years, The HERD has harnessed the team's resources to give back to our community and help deserving families during Christmas. The idea started with King RED and all have rallied to support and grow that idea each year since. This year, we continued that tradition with 100% team participation - so much so that we were able to support multiple families and a veterans foundation!

A BIG THANK YOU to EVERYONE that donated and to HERD families that took on the challenge to shop for over 50 gifts (we asked for a list of needs and wants) for the family of 7 we supported! In the end, we successfully delivered presents (all wrapped from Santa) to a family of 7 (five beautiful children) & also provided a sizable cash offering, and gifted another sizable cash offering to our refugee family (now friends) we sponsored last year! The HERD was so generous in 2023 that we were able to share a sizable donation to a reputable veterans foundation in honor of the sacrifice so many have given!

A few pictures here capture just a glimpse of gift wrapping by some local HERD members. Thank you to our own Brewmeister for providing the space and libations to make wrapping so much fun!

Late Season Races

In other, less important, news many HERD athletes completed late-year races to close out the 2023 racing season.

IRONMAN70.3 Santa Cruz: The Land brothers tested their fitness at IRONMAN70.3 Santa Cruz as both were prepping for late season full distances races.

IRONMAN70.3 Augusta: The Mannimal and Hooch battled through the heat+humidity in Northeast Georgia in September. Mannimal continued to log impressive performances with another sub-5 70.3, while Hooch came across the finishline about 12 minutes later.

IRONMAN California: Four HERD athletes completed IRONMAN California in October. Congratulations to the Legge brothers as this was their first 140.6! WP put up an impressive performance and Off The Couch got his 140.6 revenge after IMLP.

IRONMAN70.3 North Carolina: Several HERD members toed the line in Wilmington in October. The day was filled with excitement, with 4 first-timers making their debut and seasoned veterans looking for a IRONMAN70.3 World Championship slot. The anticipation did not disappoint as both The Mannimal and EnJenn received slots at the 2024 IRONMAN70.3 World Championship in Taupo, New Zealand. Will more HERD members receive a slot in 2024 70.3s?

IRONMAN Arizona: Even though he mixed up his raceday kit, Arnold put an impressive performance at IRONMAN Arizona with a sub-12 performance.

IRONMAN70.3 Florida: Seven battled through the elements in Haines City and looks to get revenge on IRONMAN70.3 Hawaii this June.

Let us hear you.
